Just for Kids Law responds to the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities report

31 Mar 2021

The report of the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities is insulting to the children and young people who experience racial injustice on a daily basis – the black or Gypsy, Roma or Traveller child who is more likely to live in poverty, be disproportionally excluded from school or over-represented at all stages of the criminal justice system. In our work at Just for Kids Law, we regularly see the negative impact that racism has on children, including long term consequences, such as a lost education or poor mental health.

This report is a missed opportunity to make ambitious recommendations for change which are urgently needed to address the racism that blights many children and young people’s lives and which we see in our work every day.
