Justin Johnson joined Just for Kids Law in January as a Youth Advocate; he assists and supports children and young adults to overcome a range of rights-based hurdles. Before arriving, Justin focused on improving access to justice using technology through a start-up he co-founded. Prior to this, Justin worked in the Hackney Community Law Centre, where supported the immigration caseworker with a range cases, quickly developing a particular interest in asylum cases featuring sexual orientation and domestic violence.
Justin is committed to person-centred work and enjoys advocating for people’s rights in a variety of contexts; to date, he has helped challenge unjust decisions in SEN, ESA and PIP related claims. He intends to qualify as a barrister and has completed the BPTC and GDL. Before embarking on his legal studies, he volunteered and worked across South East Asia and China, during which he developed a passion for rock climbing and North Chinese cuisine.
Justin is excited to join Just for Kids Law, an organisation committed to tackling both the causes and effects of prevalent issues affecting children and young adults.
