Enver is a respected and well known figure in the children’s voluntary sector. Prior to joining Just for Kids Law, he was Director of External Affairs at the National Children’s Bureau. He has also worked in senior roles at the Children’s Society and Barnardo’s and chaired a range of sector coalitions. Enver has led work achieving major reform to policy and practice on children in care, youth justice, chid sexual exploitation and children’s immigration. He has also worked extensively on criminal justice policy and practice in his capacity as deputy director of the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies and at the Prison Reform Trust. Enver has produced a number of reports and co-edited three books for Policy Press on safeguarding, youth justice and prevention. He has also lectured on the MA in Child Studies at King’s College and previously contributed to the King’s College Masters programme in Criminology. Enver has chaired the Alliance for Children in Care and Care Leavers, the End Child Poverty coalition and the Standing Committee for Youth Justice. He has been a member of various advisory boards and groups for the Office of the Children’s Commissioner, the Department of Education, the Home Office and the HM Inspectorate of Prisons. He often speaks at conferences and throughout his career has contributed to the media writing articles and appearing on broadcast news programmes.
